There is an increasing consensus among scientists researching the effects of shea butter on human skin, that this substance has a potential that the field of cosmetology has so far failed to fully understand. However, despite their increasing scientific interest in shea butter, and the fact that it has been used in Africa for thousands of years shea butter is still relatively unknown to the general public.

The shea butter used in our products is produced in West Africa, one of the poorest regions of the world. As well as introducing this valuable product to selected markets and bringing satisfaction to their clients, Karite Plus hopes to improve the circumstances of the African women who work in the harvesting and production of shea butter by providing a market for their produce. One way of helping them to achieve this is by buying the product of their labour and justly rewarding them for their hard work.
